Polyamourous relationships

Do you think it's possible to love one than one person? A lot of people think that you can't love more than one person at the same time because you wouldn't love the second person if you really loved the first. Is Monogamy going out the door? Last night I was watching a series called "Strange Sex" and this one episode was about a couple, who after 8 years decided to add another person to their relationship. There are now 2 men and 1 woman involved in that relationship. It gave a different look on polyamorous relationships.

Here are a few myths about polyamorous relationships:

1. They are swingers. The difference between swingers and polyamorous relationships is swingers are all about the sexual experience with multiple people, while poly-amorous people are looking for meaningful connections with multiple people.

2. It's just one big sex fest. Now I am not sure about every couple but most of these couples have one on one time with each person involved (whether it be a woman with multiple men, or a man with multiple woman) and they each have their own rooms etc.

3. It won't work because someone will get jealous. Pol-amorous relationships are a lot more open and each party involved set down ground rules. There isn't a lot of room for jealousy because every one's needs are being met.

This specific episode was an eye opener for me. All I've ever seen/heard of polygamy was the FLDS, multiple women with one husband. Or even "Sister Wives". It was different seeing a female with multiple boyfriends. Is it realistic to think that one person can fulfill everyone of our needs for the rest of our life? Is that why divorce rates are over 50%?

I, myself have never been in any kind of relationship but a monogamous relationship. It works for me. I love having that connection with just one person. I love laying next to one man each night and spending my life with just that one man. It works for me but it's interesting to see the other kinds of relationships that are out there.

The Original Five!

I really have the BEST family in the whole entire world!! We have been through many ups and downs, many trials and errors but throughout it all we have remained strong & together. No matter if we agree or even like what everyone is doing, we support each other. It's a beautiful thing to know that no matter what comes in life we will always have the love and encouragement from one another. We all have our own lives, significant others, & children but the bond between my parents & my siblings and I is stronger today, than yesterday. (;

I love my family so much, there are no words to express just how much. <3

Let's catch up....

I decided it's time that I write another blog, it's been a little while since I posted last. It's been two months since I had Aydn and what a blessing he's been to me and my entire family. I remember when I found out I was pregnant with him and all the conflicting emotions that came with it but I can say fully that I couldn't imagine my life without him. He's a very very spoiled baby with a hot temper to go with it. It's not anyone's fault really, he's just a really loved baby. (: If he even fusses a little bit Alexia, Alyssa or Aspen are right in his face, or right in mine. Lol

Alexia turned EIGHT years old in September!! Omg! I can't believe I have been a mother that long! She is such a big helper to me. My little sidekick. (: She had three birthday parties and received a lot of presents. Andrew and I took her to Chucky E Cheese and spent over $100 on tokens for all the kids. ($1/5 tokens & each game was only a token, you do the math.) all the kids and her had a BLAST!

Holiday time is upon us!! My favorite time of year is Thanksgiving and I can't wait! (: My kids and I are all ready for Halloween. Austen will be Batman, Aydn will be Robin, Alexia is a Monster Hyde, Alyssa is Tangled, and Aspen is Rainbow Brite. I am so excited to see them all dressed up and show our families!

What a month it was!

I can't believe it's already been a month since my little man was born! The time has just flown by! I don't know if it's my age or because he's my last baby but I appreciate all the little things so much more than I ever have. Waking up to feed him, changing a million diapers, etc. I enjoy every tiny moment. I am cherishing everything because I know all too well how quickly a one month old turns into an 8 year old. ): Here's a look at the last month and memories we will never forget! (:

Aydn Scott

He's here!! Aydn Scott was born on August 23 @ 11:34 am. He weighed 6 pounds 11 ounces & was 19 inches long. He came out with a head of thick dark hair and was perrrrrrfect! (: My labor was quick and I only had to push five times to get him out. A fun little fact, my son was born on my father's birthday! (: I'm so in love with this little guy!!
